North Pend Oreille County is home to the best variety of fishing in the State. The Pend Oreille River and Sullivan Lake is
open year-round and offer opportunity for fish such as trout, smallmouth and largemouth bass, trout, bluegill, and crappie.
The Pend Oreille River is very popular for bass and walleye, while tributary streams host cutthroat, rainbow, brook, brown trout. Sullivan Lake is a popular
ice-fishing destination in the winter months for Burbot. Bring your fly rod and your kayak for some great spring and summer action on the many lakes close to the park.

North Pend Oreille County is well known for its hunting opportunities. There is ample public access on National Forest and State-managed lands. Moose, elk, whitetail and mule deer, bear, and turkeys are the most popular targeted species, while cougar and forest grouse are often encountered while hunting other big game. Cedar RV Park welcomes hunters and can offer assistance with handling and hanging your game when you return to camp. Regulations and seasons can change from year to year so please be sure to check with the Department of Fish and Wildlife and have the required tags for your hunt.
The North Pend Oreille River Valley is the gateway to the Selkirk Range and the Salmo-Priest Wilderness. Within minutes of leaving the park, you are surrounded by vast green forests and stunning views that will sweep you off your feet. Whether you are an avid hiker, or this is your first time, there are plenty of trails of various skill levels within an hour's drive from the park. During the winter months, be sure to bring your snowshoes as many trails are groomed and maintained for winter use.
The North Pend Oreille River Valley offers some of the best scenic and wildlife viewing the area has to offer. Some are just a short drive minutes away from the park while others require a little bit of exploring on foot, vehicle, boat, canoe or kayak to see the sights. The Little Pend Oreille River Wildlife Refuge, Boundary Road, Crawford State Park featuring Gardner Cave, PeeWee Falls, Big Meadow Lake, and Sullivan Lake are all easy day trips from our park. Songbirds, eagles, cougars, bears, wolves, deer, elk, and moose are regularly seen on and off the beaten path. Regardless...Make sure you bring your binoculars and camera!
Along with the Town of Ione, the towns of Metaline and Metaline Falls are just a short drive away on Highway 31. Each have their own history and character which are definitely worth the visit. Enjoy a short walk through downtown Ione where you can grab a meal and a cold beverage at the Ione Public House, or Plaza Pizza. The Hwy 31 Grind offers fresh coffee, teas, and other beverages. The beautifully restored train station is the home base of the Rail Riders operated by the Lion's Club, which during the summer and fall offers self-guided pedal car rides of the train track between Ione and Box Canyon Dam, 4 miles north of Ione. Metaline features a beautiful park and boat launching facility on the Pend Oreille River, which serves the community well during the annual Tri-Town Float Down each summer. Metaline Falls features its beautiful namesake falls on the Pend Oreille River at the entrance to Z Canyon, which is easily viewed from the Falls Vista Park. The historic Cutter Theatre offers tours of this architectural treasure and its historical photo collection, with regular performances by both professionals and local talent in the classic performing arts theatre. Catch a first-run movie or an old favorite every weekend at the beautifully restored NuVu Theatre.

The Kalispel Casino is only a 35-minute drive from Ione and is a great option if you are looking for a little fun at the game tables. Along with the casino, that boasts a variety of games and slot machines, there is a full-service restaurant. Their own RV park and two-lane RV dump station provide options for you when you're not within easy range of Cedar RV Park!
Does Sasquatch really exist? We'll let you decide for yourself! Our store's namesake is a popular focus of attention for amateur and professional "Squatchers" alike in the remote forests of North Pend Oreille County. Numerous sightings and interactions have been well documented in the region, particularly the area surrounding Sullivan Lake. The popular Metaline Falls Bigfoot Festival is held every June and attracts thousands who enjoy the street fair that accompanies a weekend of networking with other Squatchers and hearing presentations by both local and national experts. Cedar RV Park is ready to be your base camp for your own expeditions.
The Town of Ione is ATV "friendly" and Cedar RV Park welcomes our guests who choose to bring their machines and enjoy this popular activity. The Selkirk Trailblazers sponsor the popular Katherine Maupin Memorial ATV Ride and Poker Run each May. "Get Dirty" and then use our 2-bay self-service car wash to get your machine clean! Please ensure that all machines are properly equipped and licensed for your activity. The speed limit in the park for ALL vehicles, including ATV's is 5 mph.
